International expansion enables continued growth, especially when local markets are saturated or competitive. Setting up a business overseas comes with its own set of challenges and uncertainties for business leaders.
Drawing upon expert advice from senior executives who have spent many years launching and growing businesses all over the world, The Leap, with the FT as media partner and in conjunction with Strategy International, will provide an insight into launching successfully in a new market.
At this roundtable breakfast:
Albert MaasLand, CEO of Crown Agents Bank, will be bringing his wealth of experience in launching businesses overseas. With a background in launching, operating, growing and selling businesses in Europe, Africa and North America, alongside founding a diverse range of start-up businesses, Albert will be sharing insights on creating the right environment for growth and striking the balance between agility, innovation and resilience.
Jillian Moore, Head of Digital at Atos, will speak on the importance of adapting to the local environment. She gained experience working in many geographies in markets such as Travel & Transport, CPG, Retail, Sport and Financial Services to bring together business transformation and new digital technologies to help clients do things differently.
Ruth Euling, Global Director of Currency at De La Rue, will be outlining some of the challenges and opportunities in doing business with the government sector in new market geographies. Ruth has lived and worked in Latin America and the Far East and has served on a number of Boards including Canning House and the Caribbean Council and is currently a Director of De La Rue Kenya, a joint venture between De La Rue and the Government of Kenya and the International Currency Association.
Lewis Cohen, Commercial and IP Partner at Mishcon de Reya, will provide valuable advice on how to prepare a business for international expansion, the different methods and structures for growing internationally, as well as an insight into the common mistakes and pitfalls and the steps you can take to avoid them.
