The Leap 100 is an annual list identifying the most exciting, fast growth companies in the UK. Published in City AM, it features companies that re-define their categories and aim higher than their competitors to find new, smarter ways to engage with their customers.

The mission of The Leap is to bring together the rare breed of individuals who have built and lead these ambitious companies so they can learn from each other and share experiences and support during periods of explosive growth. United by a refusal to accept things as they are, Leap company leaders are the architects of the future of our economy: creative, opinionated and resilient.

“Those who make ‘the leap’ will be the businesses with the vision and the ambition to grow at explosive rates – generating employment, innovation and prosperity along the way”

Nick Davis, Head of Corporate at Mishcon de Reya

The Leap 100 brings together the most exciting, fast-growth companies in the UK. Scaling-up can be rich in real-life drama, with risks of setbacks and sudden lows as well as high rewards for those who make it to the other side. The Leap 100 aims to support entrepreneurs as they experience the highs and lows of fast growth, bringing together founders and business leaders to share their ideas and experiences.

Each year, The Leap invites 100 new fast-growth companies to join its network of founders and business leaders, with a launch feature profiling each of them in City A.M. The challenges and hopes of this brave and economically vital group are then tracked via regular polls, round tables, academy sessions and events, with City A.M. and the other Leap Partners sharing the collective picture that emerges.

The Leap 100 is neither a ranked index nor an exhaustive selection of the country’s fastest-growing companies. They are, however, the organisations – big and small – that we believe are worth watching.

The Leap 100 companies are nominated by Leap Founders Mishcon de Reya and City A.M. and  Leap Partners The Entrepreneurs Network and Seven Hills.

All of The Leap companies have a recent history of rapid revenue growth, as well as ambitious plans for the future. We also look for successful innovation, brand recognition and expansion into new markets and, respecting the human qualities that make a leap into the unknown possible, we seek companies with teams displaying both leadership and tenacity.

What all of the 300 Leap companies to-date have in common is not size, but vision. Driven forward by the ambitions of their leaders, they are innately able to articulate a vision and the values that underpin it.

There are four Leap Partners involved in The Leap 100 programme: Mishcon de Reya, City A.M., Seven Hills and The Entrepreneurs Network. The Leap Partners are responsible for nominating companies to The Leap 100 list and for ensuring that The Leap 100 programme of events continues to be relevant and interesting to fast-growth businesses.

There are currently 300 Leap companies in The Leap community.

City A.M., in partnership with Mishcon de Reya, first launched the Leap in 2015. Every year since then, another cohort of 100 companies has joined The Leap 100 community, bringing with them fresh insights and invaluable experience.

Once nominated to the list, a Leap company will be included in all future polls and invited to all Leap 100 events.
